ABOUT

Kaya Hassell is a digital artist and illustrator based in central NC. He specializes in fantasy art and character work, finding inspiration in film, high fashion, and literature. Though no stranger to traditional mediums like pencil and watercolor, the bulk of his illustrative work is done digitally. The layering options available with today's software become the basis for the pieces' blocking and color, which are then built upon using paint overs and, finally, some sort of final linework. Each piece aims to capture the feel of its inspiration and leave the viewer with a fairy-tale like impression.

He is also pursuing an associates degree in Simulation and Gaming Development with Wake Tech and possesses a certificate in 3D Modeling and Animation from the same establishment.
